Both Lucille Ball and Desi "Ricky" Arnaz died of tobacco-related diseases.  Diagnosed with lung cancer in 1986, Desi Arnaz died on December 2nd of that same year.  On April 26, 1989, a week after undergoing open heart surgery, Lucille Ball suffered a ruptured aorta and died.
